Sewage Cleanup in Sandy Spring, MD

Sewage Cleanup in Sandy Spring, MD

A sewage backup is one of the more serious situations a property owner can face, since sewage carries contaminants that pose a health risk beyond the water damage itself. Apex Restoration Services handles sewage cleanup in Sandy Spring, MD with the protective equipment and disinfection process this type of loss requires, treating it differently from a standard water cleanup from the start.

Before any cleanup begins, our technicians assess the category of water involved, since sewage is classified as contaminated water and requires a different level of protective handling than clean water from a supply line. This assessment guides which materials can be cleaned and which need to be removed and discarded due to contamination.

Removal of sewage and affected materials is done with attention to containing the contaminated area and preventing it from spreading to unaffected parts of the property. Porous materials that have absorbed sewage, such as carpet, padding, and some drywall, typically cannot be salvaged and are removed as part of the cleanup process.

Once contaminated materials are removed, we clean and disinfect the affected surfaces thoroughly before beginning the drying process. Disinfection is not an optional add on for sewage cleanup, it is a core part of making the space safe to occupy again, and we treat it with the same level of attention as the extraction itself.

Apex Restoration Services has handled sewage cleanup across Sandy Spring, MD for 15 years, understanding that this type of loss requires both technical skill and careful handling. If you are dealing with a sewage backup, call 1 (877) 264-5920 and our team will explain the steps involved.
